History

Mr. E. Standish Bradford started Springfield Wire, Inc. in 1921, when he opened a small factory in West Springfield to make pot scrubbers, known as "Danny Duzit" and "Dolly Duzit" and gimp which was used to trim clothing. After operating for forty-four years out of several locations in the Springfield area, our manufacturing operation and administrative offices were moved from a location on Leete Street to our present facility here on Cottage Street. In 1976, an addition to this plant, doubling it's size and adding offices for engineering, data processing and quality control, made it into the present 100,000 square foot facility.

From 1961 to 1975, we operated a subsidiary in Evansville, Indiana and in 1972, Springfield Wire de Mexico was begun to better serve our highly competitive markets. In 1988, a new plant was constructed in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, increasing efficiency and quality with state of the art processing equipment.

In 2003, Springfield Wire opened Springfield Wire (DongGuan) Company, LTD. in Gaung Dong Province, P.R.C. The synergy between Springfield, Mexico and China ensures that Springfield Wire Inc. will be able to meet all of our customers needs.

We at Springfield Wire, Inc. have maintained our reputation as a top notch company; one that our customers can depend upon for superior quality products, delivered on time and at a competitive price. Numerous plaques and letters attesting to this fact are displayed throughout our factory. By continuing our long and proud tradition, our road to the future is very clear.
